ShinChan!!

ShinChan Nohara is currently my favourite cartoon character. He is funny, naughty and is highly entertaining. His interactions with his mom Mitsy Nohara are hilarious and are certainly better than the episodes which feature his class mates Masau,Khazama,Suzuki and his teacher Yoshinaga....i hope I have spelled these Japanese names correctly.First time watchers of this show will not like it so much but after a few episodes you will surely be glued to it.

Animal Cartoons

This is a cartoon of Tommy,my grandmas' pet dog.Every-time we visit our native place, tommy is always the first one to greet us and keeps us entertained by his funny antics all through the day.Funnily, all these years we had around four to five Tommy doggies(all of them with their signature black furry coat) back in Karnataka...all offsprings of the previous "Tommy"...they all had the same name...so we had a new Tommy everytime we went to my grandmas' place. But this time there was no Tommy :( so i made this cartoon in his memory.

I had the neighbours' brown dog to keep me company this time.He is very cute and is always hungry.I made lots of animal cartoons while i was in my native place....most of them are inspired(some literally copied)from the Tinkle comic books.I simply love the illustrations in the Tinkle comics especially the ones by Archana Amberkar, Savio Mascarenhas and Ram Waeerkar.

This tiger cartoon is one of my favourites.

Dragon Tales

The Dragon here is my version of an illustration by Mou-sien Tseng accompanying a Chinese folktale called "The Living Kuan-yin" published in the Childcraft series of books. If you like the dragon you will certainly like the story which was originally published in the book "Sweet and Sour:Tales from China" by Carol Kendall and Yao-Wen Li.Its quite a facsinating story and is worth a read.

Art in Action!

The above toon is my version of a toon from the book "Draw great Manga" by Elvin and Felder. The toon below is an original art-work...I tried to create a woman from another galaxy...I call her Astri.I think its a good idea to paint Aliens and action toons in dual shades of the same family of color....It gives a serious and stylish quality to the character.More-over it becomes easier to experiment in highlights and shadows in the dual color mode......I am still in the 2-dimensional toon mode...will switch to shadows and highlights soon!
